Dzimbadzemabwe Upcycled Jacket

Original coat from Marks and Spencers. This coat is called Dzimbadzemabwe, meaning houses of stone which is believed to be where the name Zimbabwe comes from. The ShweShwe fabrics image of home brings me a sense of calm and rest. The broach of sweetcorn (mealies) reminds me of the smell of cooking mealies in a place in Africa.
